Q: When can I have my home security system installed?

A: WSS will first schedule a consultation appointment within one to three days then schedule a time that is convenient for you to have a licensed technician to install your home security system.

Q: Is a telephone line necessary?

A: WSS recommends a traditional phone line to communicate your alarm signal to our 24 hour UL central monitoring station.
No phone line…no problem because WSS can monitor your home security system with the option of a digital cellular communicator if you choose not to install a phone line. You can also install cellular back-up system for added protection in the event of telephone service interruption or a cable cut.

Q: Will the security system work if there is a loss of power?

A: Yes, systems come with a back-up battery that will run the system for several hours. Once the battery is low, a signal will be transmitted to the monitoring center and you will be notified.

Q: Are pets a problem for an alarm system?

A: No, the home security system use pet immunity which allows for most animals that weights less than 40 pounds to wander around the home without setting off the alarm. Pets that weigh more than 40 pounds may require a system upgrade.
